Nadar en la oscuridad
Perfect combination of romance, intrigue, politics, and history set in 1980s Poland.
In the eighties, Ludwik, a Polish university student, nonconformist and voracious reader, is forced to attend a summer agricultural camp. There he meets Janusz, an attractive and carefree boy who fascinates him, although fear keeps him on guard. A chance encounter by the river leads them to an intense, exciting, and absorbing adventure.
Isolated from society and its restrictions, and united by an illegal copy of James Baldwin’s Giovanni’s Room, they both fall deeply in love. But in the real world, a Catholic and communist country awaits them where the passion they share is inconceivable.
The secret love between the two young men will be challenged by their ideological differences, in an effort to survive under a regime on the brink of collapse.
