La tercera edad LGTBIQ+
A key essay to understand older LGTBIQ+ people and their experiences
"La tercera edad LGTBIQ+" is a key essay designed to bring to the mind of 21st-century society the Historical Memory of a very brave group that, in 1970s Spain, fought—at the risk of torture, imprisonment, and humiliation—to achieve levels of dignity unimaginable under the Franco dictatorship.
Unfortunately, today this group is not only marginalized within the LGTBIQ+ community but, even worse, is practically forgotten by the rest of society.
«When neither the body responds as we would like nor acceptance is the same, the reunion with one of the greatest obstacles is triggered: rejection. We see our condition as narcissists withering away. Although everything has changed, the attitude in this respect remains the same: to desire what we truly want. The rest is for the small talk.»
